Art Intensive Studio

Date: to be decided
Duration: 18 hours total
Format: 6 lessons, 3 hours per lesson

Signet rings have traditionally carried heritage—signifying who we are, where we come from, and who our ancestors were. During these classes, we will explore this symbolic dimension of jewellery through a series of creative exercises.

The outcome will not necessarily be a ring in its traditional form. Instead, the focus is on creating a meaningful object that embodies personal heritage—an imprint of identity. Participants will develop their pieces by engaging deeply with the story and significance of a chosen inherited object.

We welcome students who are already familiar with basic jewellery-making techniques such as cutting, soldering, filing, and polishing, and who wish to explore a more conceptual and personal approach to jewellery.

Participants are required to choose and bring a physical object directly connected to their family history or inheritance. During these classes, we will work about this object without directly engaging with it; the original piece will remain hidden and will be revealed only at the end, alongside the newly created work.

The creative exercises will guide participants into a deeper exploration of the chosen object, leading to its visual and conceptual reinterpretation.

The Art Intensive Studio classes are designed to guide participants through a process of experimentation and reflection, leading to original artistic expression. Emphasis is placed on the process rather than the final result: learning through making, remaining open to change, and allowing the final piece to evolve organically.
